Taylor Joelle Fashion

Taylor Joelle never ceases to amaze us with there adorable prints and designs each season.  Their fabrics are super soft and stretchy and they are super easy to throw in the wash.  My daughters both wear them as much as they possibly can.  Charlie loves them because she can throw them on quickly, all by herself and feel like a princess while still feeling comfy!

We totally adore this lime green and navy dress that they sent us!  We paired it with some dark blue bear knee high socks and navy and white striped canvas shoes from H&M.  When it’s cooler outside, your daughter can throw on a cute denim jacket like the one Charlie wore from Oshkosh B’Gosh!

This dress is on sale right now and can be found HERE

For Charlie’s hair, we did this super cute braided style into pigtails.  As you can see in the previous photo, we started by parting her hair down the middle and did a dutch braid on each side and ended them at her crown into a ponytail.  We split each ponytail into three sections and braided each one.  Then we wove the six braids and tied them into pigtails.  So cute!  It’s one of those styles that looks a lot more complicated than it is!

Thank you, Taylor Joelle for the beautiful dress.  It’s just perfect and I guarantee she’s going to get a ton of use for it!

Our next blog will feature the cutest mustard dress and light denim jeans, so be sure to stay tuned!

Back To School Shopping Tips

Back To School Collage

I cannot believe it’s that time of year again already!  Back to school!  This year, my youngest, Charlie is starting Kindergarten and she is crazy excited!

Both Charlie and my favorite part of the beginning of a new school year is the shopping!  I love that we have that in common! Charlie is really into picking out her own clothes now, and is coming up with her own little sense of style!  I think she’s starting to love kids fashion as much as I do!

The store I can always count on to have things we both adore is Oshkosh B’gosh!

Year after year, my favorite thing about Oshkosh is that their clothing is always classically cute, comfy and perfect for the playground.  Each season, they make it super simple to to put together awesome and versatile outfits!   Charlie and I wanted to show you how simple it is to make lots of different outfits using only a few different pieces! This is our favorite way to stretch out our back to school budget!

Speaking of budgets, we are excited to get to offer you an exclusive 25% off coupon code from Oshkosh just for our readers!  Head on over HERE and use the code: OKBG3136 from now through the 26th!  Don’t miss out, that’s a huge savings!!

Start by picking out your child’s favorite piece in the store.  You know, that piece they are going to beg to wear every day…that they will even want to sleep in.  This is the piece you will want to center your easily interchangeable looks around! This will cut back on the amount of getting ready fits you’ll have to deal with in the mornings! 🙂 Then you’ll want to pick out one or two pairs of pants, a skirt and a jacket or two that all coordinate, that you can mix and match all year!

This little button up floral shirt was Charlie’s favorite piece!  I personally love the pop of bright colors, how it’s a little bit lower in the back than it is in the front, and that the flowers give a good base to made it girly and dress it up, or easily dress it down. The fabric is light weight, so it’s perfect for the upcoming cooler weather, but it breathes, so she won’t get too hot on the days that decide to get a little warmer in the afternoon.

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

For our first outfit, we picked these bright orange pants that played on the pop of color in the shirt.  I love to have a good bright color pants for back to school.  These are stretchy and soft and easy to pull on.  The stretch makes them perfect for play and easy pulling on and off.  We paired it with a denim jacket and a cute headband and some gold flats to finish off the look

For our second outfit, we went with a little bit more of a toned down look, perfect for the first day of school.  We chose some dark denim jeggings that will go with everything, some pink glitter flats and an army green cargo jacket. Oh and of course, it wouldn’t be complete without an extra cute accessory, like these purple clip in kitty ears!  I am in love with this look, and this cargo jacket is going to be a major staple in Charlie’s closet this fall and winter!

For the third outfit, we wanted to show how you can make the shirt a little more dressy and girly by adding a skirt!  This white eyelet skirt was just right.  Since she’ll be on the playground a lot, we put it with some sparkle high tops!  Tuck the shirt in for a more sophisticated, put together look. Perfect for picture day! Either jacket pictured earlier would also go great over this outfit!

Here is the list of things I look for when shopping at Oshkosh each back to school season:

  1. Your child’s favorite item
  2. One or two pairs of jeans
  3. Two or three pairs of shoes
  4. A skirt or a dress
  5. One or two jackets
  6. panties
  7. accessories

Follow these simple tips when shopping:

  1. Get plenty of basic denim, it’s the most versatile thing in the closet! This would include jeans, shorts, jackets, overalls and button up shirts!
  2. Have each jacket be one that will work with all of the shirt/skirt/pant combos possible.
  3. Pick one statement piece (such as the bright colored pants in this post).
  4. Choose a couple of pairs of shoes that will go with each outfit.
  5. If your child is going into pre-k or kindergarten, try to pick things they can easily put on themselves, including slip on shoes and pants with elastic at the waist.  The more independent they can feel in the mornings, the better!
  6. LAYER!  When you layer, they can peel off pieces of clothing as the day gets warmer while they are at school!

If you’re eager to get to shopping, which I’m sure you are now, you can find a store near you using this store locator.

This blog post is also centered around one of our favorite packing tips:  pick one staple piece of clothing and make different outfits around it to save on suit case space!  An awesome tip to keep in mind for spring break, winter break or your next family vacation!

We hope this post helped inspire some cute back to school looks for your little one’s back to school shopping this year! Happy #backtobgosh!

The Little Mermaid

We recently had the exciting opportunity to work with Carken Design on a special mermaid photo shoot!  Charlie was SO excited!  She truly felt like a mermaid in this amazing sequin skirt and top!  The skirt has a full ruffle at the bottom and it is made of stretchy fabric so it’s easy to slip on and off.  The top has a tie at the back and a halter tie as well.  Both pieces would also look amazing with other pieces!  I can’t wait to style the shirt with a tutu skirt and the skirt with a cute little button up blouse!

Lola and Darla also sent us this perfect little shirt to go with the whole outfit.  The shirt says “Merbabe Life.” How cute is that?  I adore the fringe at the bottom and it is so soft!  The best thing about Lola and Darla’s shirts is that all of them have this beautiful, sparkle writing that does not come off in the wash.  And I mean, it stays on.  Back when Charlie was two years old, we had their Always Sparkle shirt and we washed it over and over and it stayed looking like the day we bought it through it all!

Charlie loved getting into character with her “dinglehopper” and Flounder plush toy from Disney.com She even wanted to pretend she got feet just like Ariel!

We would like to say thank you to Carken Design and Lola and Darla for contributing the beautiful pieces for this shoot!   We had so much fun collaborating and we hope you all love it!
